In this lesson, Dr. Dane and Dr. Eric discuss functional exercise and the concept of transferability.
Functional exercise allows us to simulate movements we do in our everyday lives, while we exercise. Many exercises we see at the gym are done in a linear based fashion. Exercising this way may change our appearance, but it is not conducive to everyday living.
Today we talk about transferability and how you can mirror the activities you do in your everyday life in your exercise program. We demonstrate several functional exercises you can do at home or at the office. Follow along and learn how to transfer exercises you see at the gym to functional exercises mimicking everyday movement patterns, using equipment like water jugs, suitcases, and even your kids!
