Sarcopenia- The Silent Killer
Welcome to the second lesson in the 8WW Challenge Move Better Program!
In this lesson, Dr. Dane and Dr. Eric discuss the importance of strength training as it relates to Sarcopenia and your overall wellness.
Sarcopenia, which translates to a loss of muscle in our bodies, is a precursor to Osteopenia. As we age and start to use less muscle, we lose it. This has negative consequences for our health. Building lean muscle mass can help prevent Sarcopenia.
Today, we will discuss the difference between body composition and the scale, and how to add muscle to our bodies. You will learn how to incorporate the proper progressions into your strength-training program to see real results. Watch as we demonstrate several exercises to increase your strength that can be done at the gym, home, or at work.
It’s time to get going with your strength-training program – Use it or lose it!
